Community Concierge Launches Workforce Recruiting Video Highlighting Area Quality of Life

The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut's Community Concierge program has proudly unveiled a new video: "Welcome to Eastern Connecticut."

The short video provides a wonderful overview of eastern Connecticut and all it has to offer to people interested in moving to or visiting our region. A recently published Relocation Guide designed to complement the video provides a reference for people who have recently relocated to the area or are planning to do so in the future.

Tony Sheridan, President and CEO of the Chamber said, “Community Concierge is designed to help the region recruit and retain a talented workforce. We believe that this video will be a great resource to support business growth and strength in Eastern Connecticut.”

The video is part of Thames River Innovation Place’s Community Concierge initiative, which aims to engage with and welcome newcomers to eastern Connecticut, as well as showcase all of the assets that the region has to offer. This resource is open for any eastern Connecticut business to use as they grow and attract skilled workers from out of state. Thames River Innovation Place is supported by CTNext.

Another key element of the Community Concierge initiative is the Connections program through which residents and employees who are new to the area are connected with longtime locals at Let’s Go Local events as well as other events exclusive to program participants. According to David McBride, Executive Director of Thames River Innovation Place, “the mass distribution of this video to companies and areas where there are large populations of people, as well as on all of the major media and social media channels will only continue to assist in driving more and more people to the region which will continue to foster increased community and economic development.”

Eastern Connecticut is emerging as a hub for innovation, technology and industry. The new video highlights the many towns and communities within Eastern Connecticut, and contains transit information, local venues, and the history and culture of the region.

“The video has been very well received by small and large businesses, municipalities, and elected officials throughout the region. The Chamber is working with members and non-members alike to share the video on various digital platforms and spread the word about the benefits of living and working in eastern Connecticut,” noted Amanda Ljubicic, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut.
