65% Rate Groton’s Schools as Good or Excellent in Quality of Life Survey

Greater Groton (greatergroton.com) is the community’s online discussion forum. Since its launch in October of 2021, the platform has been seen by nearly 5,000 unique visitors.

This digital platform is used to collect feedback on issues facing the community, as well as to showcase town projects and initiatives.

A key purpose of the platform is to collect feedback about how to spend over $8 million in funding received through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). Over 100 participants have used the budget simulator to share their views.

The Parking in Mystic project page is even more popular, garnering over 800 visits since its launch. But the project with the most visits so far (more than 2,000) has been the Suggestion Box, primarily through a public opinion poll about mask mandates that was posted earlier in the year.

“Living in Groton” is the topic of a Suggestion Box survey about quality of life issues in Groton. Participants were asked to rate the quality of various characteristics of Groton:

  • Schools
  • Safety
  • Parks & Beaches
  • Friendliness
  • Cost of Living
  • Public Services
  • Business Community
  • Job Opportunities
  • Civic Pride

The poll has received about 120 responses through March. At this time, members of the public are invited to participate in the survey at https://www.greatergroton.com/suggestion-box/survey_tools/tell-us-what-you-think-about-groton or by clicking the button below.
