Plans are underway to create a community peace garden here to honor former President Jimmy Carter and first lady Rosalynn Carter.
The Rotary Club of Mystic’s proposal is meant to honor the Carters’ legacy of peace building, humanitarian work and public health, and their contributions to the community, said John Waller, a co-chairman of the Peace Committee for Rotary District 7980 and a past president and chairman of the grants committee for the Rotary Club of Mystic.
