Pleasant Valley Property

Groton will soon be soliciting proposals from qualified and experienced development teams that best serve local economic and community development interests.

The site, DSC05029located at 380 Pleasant Valley Road South (property ID 168918412020 E), is owned by the Town of Groton. Total site area is 16.7 acres. Currently the eastern third of the property is developed with school buildings, parking and play fields. The western two thirds is wooded and slopes up to a Navy Housing development.

Pleasant Valley Elementary School was closed in 2018. There are three buildings on the site. Building No. 1 is a one-story, 30,968-square foot elementary school constructed in 1973. Building No. 2 is a one-story, modular classroom building on piers. It was installed in 1978 and contains 1,536 square feet. Building No. 3 is a one-story, classroom building constructed in 1947. It is of wood frame construction. It is unheated and contains 9,464 square feet.

Close to downtown Groton with easy access to Route 12 and Interstate 95 leaves this property with many opportunities. Groton desires for the property to realize its highest and best use and to contribute to Groton’s tax base.
