A consultant plans to present potential strategies this week to increase "missing middle housing" to meet the town's housing demand amid the growth of defense-related jobs and demographic changes.
An ongoing study is looking at how to allow and encourage "middle housing," such as townhouses, cottages, triplexes or smaller-scale apartment buildings.
The final public workshop in the "Meeting in the Middle: Unlocking Housing Opportunities” study will be held Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Thrive 55+ at 102 Newtown Road.
