Two James Beard Award finalists are from Mystic

Mystic has two finalists for this year’s James Beard Awards, which are among the most prestigious honors for the restaurant industry.
David Standridge, who is the executive chef at The Shipwright’s Daughter in Mystic, is one of five finalists for Outstanding Chef, which is a national category. His competition includes three chefs in California and one in Colorado.
Standridge won the Beard Award in the Best Chef: Northeast category in 2024.
