A new Italian restaurant has opened in the former brew pub at 54 West Main Street in downtown Mystic.
Petrit Marku, who also owns Buon Appetito Ristorante & Pizzeria in North Stonington, said he opened the restaurant to bring food from the north and south of Italy to Mystic.
Marku, who is from Europe, said he chose the name, Cucina al Pantheon, because the building reminds him of the Pantheon in Rome, which many people flock to each year.
He said he wanted to open an authentic Italian restaurant and indoor and outdoor dining in Mystic, where so many tourists visit and locals enjoy. The chef is skilled in both southern and northern Italian cooking.
