Description
The Alexey von Schlippe Gallery presents Open Air 2023, the fourth annual exhibition of sculpture and installation at the University of Connecticut Avery Point. The opening reception on Thursday June 15 from 5:30-8:30 pm will feature eight new sculptures or installations along the shoreline walk and a projection on the lighthouse, Room for Storms by Birgit Rathsmann. Join us by the Branford House lighthouse for refreshments at 6:00 pm, stroll the exhibition, meet the artists, and stay for the video projection and the activation of Glow, an installation by Marilu Swett, at dusk. Please also visit the gallery on the second floor of the Branford House for the closing reception for Sense of Place, an exhibition of artworks by thirty-two regional artists.
Open Air 2023 will be on view from June 15 through September 29, 2023. The Open Air artists are Cate Solari, Noah Thompson, Walter Early, Kelsey Tynik, Becca Barolli, Monica Franciscus, Birgit Rathsmann, Jessica Smolinski and Marilu Swett.
Both Open Air 2023 and the Sense of Place exhibition are free and open to the public.
