Community Speaks Out has a new home on North Street in the city.

The organization, which helps people affected by addiction and their families find treatment and support, purchased a light-filled, 1,200 square-foot building in December.

Not only will "The Hub" provide space for Community Speaks Out's group meetings, but people in recovery will gather there for events and activities, including karaoke nights, pool leagues and life skills classes, said Joe and Tammy de la Cruz, president and vice president of Community Speaks Out.

The organization has been renting space in a building on Thames Street for its office and for meetings but had to rent another venue when it hosted events and activities. The new building is on a public bus route and has its own parking.
