EB gets $255 million Navy contract for design and engineering

General Dynamics Electric Boat will receive $255 million from the U.S. Navy for engineering and design work on strategic and fast-attack submarines.
About 70% of the work, according to a Friday statement from U.S. Rep. Joe Courtney, D-2nd, will take place at the submarine maker’s Groton shipyard.
The Navy said besides Groton, this award was sent to facilities in Georgia, Washington state, Hawaii and Rhode Island.
