Residents Voice Priorities for Groton’s Future at Community Event

These were among the key concerns raised by community members at Launch Groton 2035 on Tuesday. The event marked the beginning of an initiative for residents to share their visions for the town’s future as part of the update to its Plan of Conservation and Development.

The POCD was described by Groton officials as the “road map” for promoting new economic development, supporting local businesses, protecting environmentally sensitive areas, prioritizing future investments in the community and finding a way to try to balance growth with preservation. Each municipality is required to update its plan every 10 years.
