(HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Ned Lamont released the following statement following the confirmation in the State Senate of David Lehman as the commissioner of the Department of Economic and Community Development, in addition to his role as the administration’s senior economic advisor:

“I applaud the State Senate’s bipartisan support and confirmation of my administration’s nominee, David Lehman, as the commissioner of the Department of Economic and Community Development. Today’s vote was a critical step towards our aggressive commitment to growing Connecticut’s economy – through strategic policies and programs in support of all facets of our diverse economy. Since nominating David for this role, he has hit the ground running – connecting with over thirty of our state’s business leaders, touring companies in nearly a dozen communities across the state, meeting with all regional chambers of commerce, and sitting down with numerous legislators. I know his commitment to the job and our state will serve Connecticut well. I am grateful that someone of David’s caliber was willing to roll up his sleeves in the interest of public service to our state and look forward to continuing to work with him.”
