A new study by the Center for World University Rankings pitted 1,000 of the globe's top schools against each other, ranking them by the quality of education and faculty, as well as alumni employment.
The methodology also looked at the number of pending international patents and research papers published to better measure the college's broad impact and influence around the world.
Yale came in at 11th behind the University of Chicago. UConn also made the list at number 193. Wesleyan University ranked 871st but made the top 200 nationally, scoring high for its alumni employment.
